Position: Producer and Workshop Designer.
Behind Sesame Street, there’s a non profit organization called Sesame Workshop, Its mission is to help kids grow smarter, stronger, and kinder, through the design of Family Play Workshops, community events and educational material.
I worked mainly with a project called Little Adventurous (Pequeñas Aventureras), a multimedia initiative in partnership with Dubai Cares and the IDB, designed to help improve the quality of educational experiences in mathematics and science with a particular focus on encouraging girls' participation, enjoyment and sense of belonging. For this project in particular my roll was not only produced some of the events related to this project but also create different educational material that would enhance the experience of participants and their families. So I created a memory game with Mexican women working in different fields that had to match with their work instruments, also posters of a girl and a boy where kids had some words (adjetives) that they related to each genre, and also a costume game where they could dress themselves as professions related again to mathematic and sciences and find out what each profession worked with and the materials they used in order to do their job. The demo was tested in schools in Mexico City and Monterrey.
