I got contacted by Hemmgården commissioned by the City of Lund to work as a coach of 3 youngsters: Gustav Brunn, Anna Kaminska and Maria Rystad who formed StyrUpp.Nu a young initiative created as a part of the nomination of the city of Lund as the European Capital of Culture 2014.
Cities applying for the title must design a detailed cultural program that meets clear criteria; these relate to the European dimension of the event and the participation of local citizens. The program must also have a lasting impact and contribute to the city's long-term cultural, economic and social development.
The idea was to inspire these kids to create content to put in practice for their proposal. I developed a series of workshop sessions with them to help them find ideas and put them in practice in order to create cultural content of interest for the rest of the young population in the city of Lund. As well as support them during the process.
Unfortunately Lund didn’t win the title that year, but the experience of working creatively in a political level gave me a lot of perspective to my future work.
